It has been a remarkable year for our residential team, showcasing our ability to optimise schemes while upholding the highest safety standards.

From tackling complex urban developments to delivering sustainable, energy-efficient homes, we’ve continually supported our clients in navigating challenges and achieving impactful results.

Purposeful design for people and the planet

A standout project this year was the supported-living development at Bonnyrigg, which achieved Passivhaus Classic Standard. This single-tenancy scheme not only exemplifies our commitment to environmental sustainability but also addresses critical housing needs with a design tailored for occupant wellbeing. By combining sustainable practices with thoughtful architecture, the project minimises energy use while ensuring a comfortable living environment.

Putting people at ease with comfortable, affordable homes

Our expertise has also extended to delivering affordable housing solutions, addressing the pressing need for accessible and high quality homes. Notable projects like The Mannings in Sussex and Cavalier Court in Chatham exemplify how thoughtful design and collaboration can create affordable housing that enhances the lives of residents and integrates seamlessly into local communities. These developments demonstrate how we balance cost-effective delivery with safety, sustainability and community priorities.

Adapting to the unique needs of every tenant

This year, our Build-to-Rent (BTR) portfolio has seen tremendous growth with projects designed to meet the needs of modern urban renters. Developments such as Guildford Crescent in Cardiff, City Place in Chester and Manchester Waters reflect our commitment to delivering high quality, amenity-rich homes that offer convenience, sustainability and a sense of community. Meanwhile, Manchester Gardens and Station Quarter further highlight how we create vibrant living environments that attract long-term tenants, supporting thriving, cohesive neighbourhoods.

Transforming spaces for sustainable living

We are also dedicated to revitalising underutilised brownfield sites and existing structures, transforming them into vibrant, sustainable, and functional spaces that serve contemporary needs. A wonderful example is St Mary’s Island. This significant masterplan is over 20 years in the making, perfectly demonstrating how we’ve shaped a brownfield site into a modern suburb with a strong maritime character.

There’s also Hemel Hempstead; a landscape-led, residential development that will provide 476 much-needed homes on a redundant site. Uniquely located, the new community can enjoy village life, with Boxmoor on their doorstep and with excellent transport links, can commute easily into London, whilst still being surrounded by nature.

Our expertise and experience

We have helped our clients navigate the Building Safety Act requirements. We have a proven track record of helping developers achieve designs to meet evolving standards, while delivering on commercial viability. Our revised schemes are frequently submitted through S.96a or S.73 planning applications, which respect the original planning consent, minimising the risk of objections and delays for our clients.

Our focus on high risk buildings exemplifies our dedication to embedding safety standards throughout a project lifecycle, ensuring resilience and compliance in all we do. Our expertise includes acting as principal designers and client advisors under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). This year, we’ve continued to address challenges of high-risk environments by focusing on sustainability, safety and creating resilient structures. Our innovative approach includes implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to meet regulatory standards and provide long-lasting, secure solutions.
