Replacing the existing community centre, the new hub will become a hive of activity, enabling key services to collaborate and deliver support all in one space.

Sitting alongside the AHR-designed Fair Isle Family Nurture Centre, the new hub will create a shared community campus for people from all generations and backgrounds.

Designed to encourage community engagement and improve health outcomes, the hub will offer a range of family, community and youth activities, supporting residents to build independence, resilience and control over their lives. Featuring:

  • A main hall capable of hosting large-scale events
  • A library
  • A training kitchen
  • A cafe
  • A community garden
  • A multi-use games area
Exterior View2 A vibrant, multi-functional space

To support our client, Fife Council’s, wider sustainability objectives, the hub is designed to target Passivhaus Classic certification.

This approach prioritises energy efficiency through a fabric-first strategy, ensuring comfortable and welcoming internal spaces enhanced by natural light and ventilation.”
