Planning approved for new Star Radcliffe Academy
by AHR
Marking an exciting educational addition to the area, Star Radcliffe Academy will provide 750 places for pupils from years 7 to 11.
The school is set to be built off Spring Lane, at the site of the town’s current leisure centre. The swimming pool and other leisure facilities currently on the site will be relocated to the new civic hub development in Radcliffe town centre.
Star Academies will run the new school in partnership with the Department for Education.
The school will encompass modern classrooms with specialist teaching spaces for science, art, food technology, graphics and music. Additionally, the school will feature a suite of modern IT spaces, dining facilities and a spacious learning resource centre.
On the campus, sports and performing arts facilities will be available, including a three-court sports hall and a contemporary activity studio suitable for drama and dance studies.
External amenities will include a 3G all-weather pitch for football and rugby training, a Gen 2 all-weather pitch for hockey and football and a multi-use games area.
We look forward to revealing more about this addition to the Star Academies portfolio, set to open in September, 2024.
We create, refurbish and maintain school and colleges of all types and sizes, to provide inspiring, inclusive and sustainable places to learn. Discover more of our school projects here.
