We are delighted to announce the promotions of Gareth Banks, Clive Breese and Simon Lamprell to director.

Our commitment to designing spaces that positively impact various sectors in the Midlands is unwavering.

These promotions celebrate individual achievements and underscore our dedication to nurturing local talent. Under their leadership, we will continue shaping places—from large-scale developments to intimate spaces—that enhance daily life.

Managing director Anthony Langan reflects,

“Gareth, Clive and Simon have been instrumental in delivering outstanding projects at AHR, demonstrating expertise across a full spectrum of sectors. I’m thrilled to see them take the next step in their careers and look forward to working with them as we continue to shape the future of our practice and drive sustainable growth across the region.”

Beyond their professional achievements, Gareth, Clive and Simon shape a culture of collaboration and support, encouraging colleagues to bring their diverse skills, ideas and experiences to the table, creating a truly collaborative and inclusive atmosphere.

Their passion for mentorship is evident through their support of junior team members through work experience, apprenticeships and everyday collaboration—an approach they believe is essential for driving positive outcomes for both our clients and the wider community.

Together, their strength lies in their breadth of expertise across multiple sectors, each bringing a unique perspective that enhances our multidisciplinary approach:

As the head of our healthcare sector, Gareth simplifies complex challenges. With experience across health, education, universities and life sciences, he is driven by a desire to create meaningful solutions that improve lives.

Looking ahead, I’m excited about the continued growth of our healthcare portfolio across the UK.

Building on our successful Midlands projects, I’m excited about the prospect of delivering more transformative healthcare solutions that significantly enhance people’s lives and their access to vital services”

Clive consistently delivers exceptional outcomes across multiple sectors, including schools, colleges, universities, civic and community and residential, bridging our regional and national expertise. His ability to build strong, long-term relationships ensures that every project reflects the vision and aspirations of those who use the spaces we create.

I think what really makes us unique is that we combine the resources of a larger firm with the personal feel of a local one.

Having offices across the UK means we have a lot of experience to draw upon, but we always prioritise building strong relationships and offering a truly personalised service to the people we work with, and I look forward to building on that in my new position.”

Simon infuses every project with an ethos of exceptional design, with extensive multi-sector experience, delivering new workplaces, office refurbishments, schools, residential spaces and masterplans. His approach ensures that our work is not just aesthetically striking but also enhances wellbeing and quality of life.

In this new position, my vison is to further establish our reputation for excellence across the Midlands.

In addition, I look forward to nurturing our collaborative and enjoyable studio environment, where everyone is valued and drive strategic growth throughout the region, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional work alongside our talented team.”
