Working as part of a larger, multi-disciplinary design team for Crossrail, we are proud to have designed Farringdon Station, one of ten new stations created along the Elizabeth Line.

The newly opened Elizabeth line has arguably had the most impact on London’s transportation in over 20 years.

The line is the biggest expansion to the underground network in over a century, running 118 km east to west across the city through 42 km of new tunnels. We were part of a team appointed to design ten new stations along the line.

Awarded by the RIBA, the Stirling Prize has been presented since 1996 and recognises the best new UK architecture each year.

We would like to share our congratulations with the line wide design team; Grimshaw, Maynard Design Consultancy, AtkinsRéalis, and EQUATION Lighting Design teams, as well as our fellow architects behind the line’s other new stations: John McAslan + Partners, Hawkins\Brown, WilkinsonEyre, Weston Williamson + Partners, BDP, Adamson Associates, Allies and Morrison, and Fereday Pollard.

Prioritising accessibility, safety and comfort, with a modern feel, our design thoughtfully acknowledges the rich, cultural heritage of the site.

As well as providing connections to the southwest and beyond, this key transport hub has become a catalyst for the regeneration of Farringdon, bringing visitors and commuters alike to this vibrant district.
