Associate James Clayton, part of our Midlands team, has a wealth of experience in architecture and design. His ability to inspire and lead project teams ensures the highest standards are achieved at every stage of the process.
Design is not just about problem-solving—it’s about creating innovative and practical solutions that improve lives while respecting the historical and functional context of each project.
James brings a thoughtful and meticulous approach to every challenge, combining his technical expertise and creative vision. He has played a pivotal role in projects across multiple sectors. His leadership in delivering complex, multi-building developments highlights his versatility and skill.
A strong advocate for collaboration and innovation, James excels in working with stakeholders to develop thoughtful design interventions that balance modern requirements with historical preservation. His expertise in using BIM tools, managing GRIP stages (Governance for Railway Investment Projects) and the PACE (Project Acceleration in a Controlled Environment) stages on rail infrastructure projects ensures efficient project delivery and seamless integration of all components.
James’s commitment to design excellence has earned him award recognition and his work continues to embody technical precision, creativity and a client-focused ethos.
Outside of work, James enjoys playing the guitar and walking in the Shropshire Hills.
