New Park Primary School & Northway Primary School
Liverpool, UK
project overview
Much-needed school facilities to expand Liverpool’s educational offering
Part of the Liverpool Schools Investment Programme, New Park Primary School and Northway Primary School are both a welcome response to Liverpool’s growing demand for cost-effective, educational buildings with community at the core.
New Park and Northway are refreshing new builds, which mirror each other in design and replace their existing buildings, which had grown tired and no long fulfilled their purpose.
In bringing our client’s vision to life, both schools were created with sustainable methods of construction. Off-site timber construction means less waste on site and less energy used. With costs down and quality up, we delivered a more sustainable development for better education and lifelong learning.
Double height central spaces are integrated into both developments, which gain plenty of natural light throughout the day. The bright, open and welcoming space contributes to pupils’ comfort and enjoyment of the environment - boosting their learning as a result.
Wider public use of certain elements of both schools, including the school hall, helps bridge the gap between pupils and the community, bringing people together and creating a sense of place for all.
