project overview

Building a community while inspiring futures

As part of Phase 2 of the Commonwealth Games Legacy Project masterplan in Perry Barr, Prince Albert High School is a new, purpose-built free school designed to welcome and inspire 1,260 students aged 11-19, including a vibrant sixth form community.

Working closely with the Prince Albert Community Trust, we shaped the school around their innovative ‘homebase’ model. This approach places students’ wellbeing, sense of belonging and learning experience at its heart - with core classroom subjects delivered within a single, familiar classroom space. Each year group is thoughtfully arranged in its own distinct area, helping students to feel grounded, supported and part of a close-knit community as they progress through the school.

Procured through the Department for Education’s High Value Band Construction Framework, the project balances efficiency and best value with a clear focus on creating an inspiring, modern environment that supports the Trust’s educational vision and leaves a lasting legacy for the Perry Barr community.
