St Peter's Church of England Primary School
Rochdale, UK
project overview
A dedicated, welcoming and spacious new dining space
To improve the dining experience and create a more comfortable environment for pupils, we delivered a dining hall expansion scheme at St Peter’s Primary School in Rochdale, a voluntary controlled primary school for ages 3 to 11.
Alongside the spacious new 100sqm dining hall, complete with two WCs and two small intervention rooms, we also undertook remodelling works to create a new cycle shelter in the car park and carried out minor internal remodelling works to accommodate the new building.
Improving safety and mobility, the new hall has been built closer to the kitchen and provides the school with a separate designated dining hall, boasting a modern canteen style set up.
On approach, the dining hall has become the school’s main focal point. To capture visitors’ attention, it has been designed to reflect a modern and welcoming aesthetic, supporting the school’s aim to enhance its education offering.

BESPOKE DESIGN
Striking design features to add colour and warmth
Brightening the space with a fitting tribute to the school’s values and beliefs, as well as enhancing the pupil’s understanding of local history, bespoke replica stained-glass windows from nearby St Peter’s Church are incorporated on the walls of the new dining hall.
Decorative wall art supports a seamless design, coordinating with colours from the floor covering, chairs and tables, whilst a modern serving counter with bright overhead lighting welcomes pupils to collect their food.
