Surbiton Primary Academy
Kingston upon Thames, UK
project overview
A smart and sustainable school improving the delivery of learning in London
To be run by non-profit charity Omnia Learning Trust, the new 420-place primary school in Kingston upon Thames will cater for pupils age 5-11 years, helping to inspire young people again.
The highly efficient, net zero carbon building will completely transform the existing site, hosting an outdated 1930s building, which had grown tired and no longer served its purpose. Our design supports Kingston Council’s vision to provide the highest quality of educational experience for children across the borough.
The 2,217 m2 school building will include 14 classrooms, a large hall, studio, food/science room, library and additional staff and teaching space to suit a range of educational needs.
The wider community will also benefit from the school transformation, with integrated facilities that serve both staff and pupils as well as people in the local area - helping to bridge a gap and bring people together.
