William Hulme Sixth Form
Manchester, UK
project overview
Promoting better education through a thoughtful refurbishment
Just south of Manchester’s city centre is William Hulme Grammar School, a through school for young people aged 5 to 18, combining traditional academic values with modern facilities and new opportunities.
Our contribution to the project includes a sympathetic refurbishment of the original, Grade II listed building to create a dedicated new sixth form centre.
Student wellbeing was prioritised throughout. Our strong design features ensure the building benefits from plenty of natural light to boost productivity and awareness to improve the quality of learning.
It was important that during the creation of the new sixth form centre we remained sensitive to the original features of the building, preserving and enhancing its historic character.
client relationship
Supporting the school’s ambitions at every level
Our delivery of the new sixth form facility follows the successful delivery of a wider series of projects for the school, having maintained a strong relationship for many years. This included a new teaching block, containing a new site reception and dining facility, and a new two form entry primary school with a 60 place nursery.
